*We strongly recommend
you have your measurements taken by a professional seamstress. It is important that you do not take the measurements yourself for accuracy purposes. They should be taken in the undergarments you plan to wear the dress with. Please remember that Gowns by Pamela is not responsible for the measurements taken outside our showroom, but please contact us with questions.
*BUST:
Have the person taking the measurements wrap the tape around the fullest point of your bust, keeping the tape level. For correct measurement they should keep a thumb in the inside of the tape and pull the tape so that it is snug, but not causing any indentation.
*Waist:
Place your hands at your natural waistline. This is where the tape should be positioned (near the naval level). With your stomach at its natural position, the person wraps the tape measure around, keeping a thumb on the inside of the tape, held snug, but not tight.
*Back:
Shoulder width: measure down from shoulder about 2-1/1., then turn the tape going across the back from left to right. (This is only necessary if you feel you have a larger or smaller shoulder width than average.

To accommodate their longevity we have ties on all dresses on the side seams for easy adjusting to create a tighter waistline. The dresses are intended to fit you beautifully and are not intended to fit tightly, therefore, they run slightly large. Some dresses are designed more fitted than others, such as Claire, which is intended for a balanced figure compared to Jamie, which has much more forgiveness in measurement differences.
All dresses have one deep pocket on the right side of the body to hide a bulging pocket fullness by the knee, rather than the hip. The dresses are approximately 58. in length from the middle of the shoulder seam to the floor going down the back.
The dresses are designed with alterations in mind and have serged and exposed seams for easy alterations. (Example; on the Jamie dress, the dickie (the triangular shaped fabric above the chest) can be altered to easily become wider across a broader chest, or raised higher making it adjustable.
The sleeve and skirt hems are approximately 1-1/2. for easy changes in length with exception of the sleeve band on Claire. the approximately 1-1/4. extra length is built into the sleeve for blouson.
Your dress washes well in warm or cold water and then hanger dried to maintain it.s whiteness.
